Quand la gr\u00e8ve est lanc\u00e9e, les ouvriers \u2013 et encore plus les ouvri\u00e8res \u2013 se retrouvent presque syst\u00e9matiquement dos au mur, dans un combat d\u00e9sesp\u00e9r\u00e9 et souvent d\u00e9sesp\u00e9rant, parce que le rapport de force est alors du c\u00f4t\u00e9 du patronat : les maigres perspectives se r\u00e9duisent \u00e0 un acc\u00e8s de violence st\u00e9rile, ou \u00e0 une n\u00e9gociation juridique interminable, qui ne permettra pas de sauver grand-chose. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00c0 rebours d\u2019une vision parfois d\u00e9cliniste et condescendante de ces luttes, l\u2019auteur souhaite n\u00e9anmoins les interroger \u00e0 l\u2019aune de la d\u00e9sagr\u00e9gation de la classe ouvri\u00e8re. La disparition de l\u2019appareil industriel a \u00e9t\u00e9 envisag\u00e9 dans une optique largement \u00e9conomique. Or le ph\u00e9nom\u00e8ne de d\u00e9sindustrialisation est un fait social qui a ravag\u00e9 la main-d\u2019\u0153uvre ouvri\u00e8re, ses territoires, ses sociabilit\u00e9s et solidarit\u00e9s. C\u2019est ce processus de destruction et d\u2019invisibilisation que l\u2019ouvrage souhaite r\u00e9v\u00e9ler, en plaidant pour une approche historienne \u00abpar le
